Lazy Welsh boy

This Lazy Welsh boy Has neglected his blog for far to long!

With all the work that goes into getting stock ready for fairs ,I have only just managed to put some
time aside to sit down and share some photos with you all.

This Beautiful glass display dome was found at a carboot sale by a friend,
who knew I would just have to have it!
It now displays some of my most prized pieces
A stunning tiara made up of diamante stars which I found at a local theatre clearance Dated around 1910 and my Great grandmother's 1915 silk crochet wedding gloves and a spray of ivory silk flowers from her wedding dress.

This amazing Phrenology head was a gift for my 16th Birthday, I have always found it
fascinating and have bought many books on the subject but have never put it in practise.

And I leave you with two of my favourite things Sweet peas and Flamingos

I hope you are all enjoying the Beautiful sunshine

Christmas count down has began !

I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW its January just one month from the last one !
But Christmas is my favourite time of the year, but always leaves me stressed out planing,
decorating and now having stock to sell at Fairs.
So to get a head of the game I'm planning to spend one whole week of evenings a month making  decorations and gifts.

This month I have been making Hot water bottle covers !
Made from a Stunning Welsh wool blanket that I found in a charity shop
Yes Charity shop how often does that happen these days?

So some of these are going to be gifts for my friends and Family I always love giving gifts that I have made !

Chair rescue

A few years ago I rescued this chair from a friends damp shed and had intended to restore it
well lets just say I never got around to it , I just put it in the corner of a room and covered it with a throw.
Then at a Local Vintage Fair in December 2012, A friend asked if I had any chairs for sale?
she was looking for a chair that her husband could sit in and read , but he didn't want a big comfy chair
but something more upright and firm for his back and I remembered the sad discarded chair sitting in the corner of my work room crying out to be loved , so I came home and sent her pics of the sad chair and some ideas of fabric and the email back said YES YES YES !. The down side was that she wanted it as a Christmas present which was only two weeks away, So I set to work removed all the old fabric, stuffing etc... and gave the dirty oak a good clean, sand and wax and with some lovely fabric my MAGIC was done !

Pleased to say my Friend was very Happy and her Husband was over the moon Christmas day and I'm told he doesn't move far from HIS chair on the weekends !

3 victorian beauties

I must admit I did a little wee when I found these 3 Victorian Beauties at Bath Vintage fair hidden among piles of curtains and fabric off cuts on the floor

All crumpled and dusty I couldn't wait to get them home and give them a brushing down and a good ironing
(I do love to iron )

They are so tiny, a 22 inch waist , my fingers were crossed they would fit my Victorian waspie That I had luckily won on a well known auction site the week before and she had only arrived the day before I went to the Vintage fair

Imagine my joy when all 3 fitted perfectly, it was written in the stars
